Sunday School is for 3 year olds through 8th grade and meets September through mid-May from 9:15 A.M. - 10:15 A.M. Sunday mornings.
Children in the 3 - 5 year old rooms each receive their own children friendly Bible as a gift to take home and keep. Parents receive a schedule at the beginning of the year and are encouraged to read the corresponding Bible story to their child throughout the week. When the children arrive at Sunday school each week they will already have an idea of the story they will be learning about. Teachers are then able to do more enrichment type activities that will help children apply the Bible story to their own lives. Do not worry if you forget to read the story together throughout the week. We will make sure the children know who and what we are talking about during our class time.
Students in grades 1-5 participate in our rotation style Sunday school. They will spend time in one Bible story over the course of a 6 week period. During those 6 weeks each grade rotates weekly between Mission Central (mission projects), Lord's Lab (science), Creator's Crafts (art), Christ's Cafe (cooking) & Savior's Stage (storytelling). Week 1 is spent as a large group watching a movie over the Bible story we are getting ready to learn about.
Grades 6-8 spend time each week in their respective rooms looking at an issue that is current in their lives and digging into the Bible to find out what God's Word has to say about it. There is lots of opportunities for safe discussion and for students to ask questions to a Christian role model.
All students spend 15-20 minutes in music each week as they prepare to share their talents at various times throughout the year which also includes a Christmas Program production done each year by the students.
