HYMN #423: “Jesus, Refuge of the Weary”
INVOCATION (read by pastor)
INTROIT (read responsively)
P: My eyes are ever on the Lord,
C: for only he will release my feet from the snare.
P: I cry aloud to the Lord;
C: I lift up my voice to the Lord for mercy.
P: I cry to you, O Lord;
C: I say, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”
P: Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need;
C: rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me.
P: Set me free from my prison that I may praise your name.
C: Then the righteous will gather about me because of your goodness to me.
P: Glory be to the Father and to the Son
C: and to the Holy Spirit;
P: as it was in the beginning,
C: is now, and will be forever. Amen
P: My eyes are ever on the Lord,
C: for only he will release my feet from the snare.
KYRIE
P: Kyrie, God the Father in heaven above,
C: You abound in gracious love,
P: Of all things the maker and preserver.
C: Have mercy, O Lord, have mercy!
P: Kyrie, O Christ, our King, salvation for all You came to bring.
C: O Lord Jesus, God’s own Son, our mediator at the heavenly throne,
P: Hear our cry and grant our supplication.
C: Have mercy, O Lord, have mercy!
P: Kyrie, O God the Holy Ghost,
C: Guard our faith, the gift we need the most,
P: and bless our life’s last hour
C: That we leave this sinful world in gladness.
ALL: Have mercy, O Lord, have mercy!
COLLECT
P: The Lord be with you.
C: And also with you.
P: Let us pray.
All: Almighty God, because you know that we of ourselves have no strength,
keep us both outwardly and inwardly that we may be defended from all
adversities that may happen to the body and from all evil thoughts that may
assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who
lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Amen.

Christ to grant us forgiveness.
ALL: O almighty God, merciful Father, I, a poor, miserable sinner, confess
to You all my sins and iniquities with which I have ever offended You and
justly deserved Your eternal punishment now and forever. But I am heartily
sorry for them and sincerely repent of them, and I pray You of Your
boundless mercy and for the sake of the holy, innocent, bitter suffering and
death of Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to be gracious and merciful to me,
a poor sinful being. Forgive me all my sins and grant me the power of Your
Holy Spirit that I may amend my sinful life.
P: God be gracious to you and strengthen your faith.
C: Amen.
P: In the stead and by the command of my Lord Jesus Christ I forgive you all
your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
