Announcements
1. BANNER-Creation of a
banner/artwork for the front of our church with our Mission Statement
"Reach out and Share the Love of Christ through Word and Service" has
been approved as a new gift fund project. The wall hanging will be
created by artist Joan Bode from Chaska. Cost of the project is $1500.
We have already received gifts totaling $600 towards this project. For
more information about the banner, talk to Donna Machemehl or Jane
Holasek.
2. SWEET CORN: The end of July should provide a start to the
Sweet Corn Season. This year the Adult Choir will be offering SWEET CORN
for sale after the 1st and thru the 2nd service in the east parking lot.
Sweet Corn should be available starting July 25th. Free Will Donations
(suggested $4 per dozen) will be used to purchase music and supplies for
the Music Ministry here at St Paul's. Enjoy the Sweet Corn this summer
and then join the Adult Choir this fall and experience what we can make
happen with your generosity.
3. BIBLES with the Gospel message underlined and a brochure of
information about our church are on the desk in the Upper Narthex. Take
some and give to your friend or neighbor when inviting them to our
church services. Let us “Reach Out and Share the Love of Christ through
Word and Service.”
4. SCHEDULE: Thank you to everyone who offers their time and
talent to help during our Worship Services. A reminder will be printed
in the bulletin as to who is “on duty” for the following week. For July
18th; Ushers: 8:00 AM Gene Starke, Dave Hoernemann, Alden Enger, Larry
Hoof; Acolytes: M. Roth, J. Roth Greeters: 8:00 AM: Paul Mohwinkel and
Ervin Seefeldt.
5. ENDOWMENT FUND-An endowment gift to St. Paul’s has certain tax
advantages that your family lawyer could assist you with, as well as
being a great blessing to the continuation and growth of our Church. How
can you participate in the fund? By remembering it in your prayers and
treasures such as bequests, gift annuities, Life Insurance benefits and
trusts. The fund is designed for unrestricted or restricted gifts (you
determine how the gift will be used). Brochures available at Church
regarding the Endowment Fund.
6. CAMP OMEGA/VBS REGISTRATION forms are available in the Lower
Narthex. Completed forms may be turned into the office ASAP. Take one
for a friend also! Anyone available to help the week of July 26 is
encouraged to sign up on the sheet in the Upper or Lower Narthex. Thank
you!
7. GIFTS- Taylor Schneewind and Erin Schwartz please pick up your
graduation gift in the Upper Narthex, thank you!
8. VBS/ CAMP OMEGA DONATIONS: We are looking for donations of the
larger containers of powdered Kool-Aid or lemonade, goldfish crackers,
jello cups and mini pretzel sticks. All items have to be peanut free.
Items can be turned into the church office no later than July 19. Thank
you!
9. HOSTS NEEDED-We are in need of host families to house our Camp
Omega Counselors the last week of July. Contact the church office if
interested.
10. ATTENTION: ALL KIDS GRADES 5-12!! GREAT MISSION-OPPORTUNITY
SANDWICH MINISTRY and VBS Work Days Wed., July 21, from 9:30 – 12:30 p.m;
Thurs., July 22, from 10:00 – Noon. All kids Grades 5 and older are
encouraged to join us at church on July 21 to be a part of the first
Sandwich Ministry event in Lester Prairie! We will be making 300
sandwiches to take to the Marie Sandvick Homeless Center in Minneapolis
for their Kid’s Club ministry! It will take about 1 hour to assemble the
sandwiches. We will spend the remainder of the time preparing for St.
Paul’s VBS by decorating and assembling craft and story project
materials. Our time will end with a free lunch for all workers. A second
VBS work day is planned for Thursday, July 22, from 10-Noon to complete
our preparations.
11. MISSION TRIP-Thank you to everyone who has donated items
toward the youth Mission Trip. We are very thankful and humbled by your
generosity. We look forward to coming back and sharing our experience
with you! Mission Trip Members
12. MEETING- The LWML will hold their monthly meeting on Monday,
August 2nd at 7:00 pm. The program for the evening is “Outdoor Fun”.
Please come hungry and bring a folding or lawn chair. If there is
inclement weather, the meeting will be held in the fellowship hall.
Please bring a guest. All women of the congregation are welcome to join
us.
13. HELP WANTED- St. Peter Lutheran Church, Lester Prairie is in
need of a part-time secretary to work in our church office. Our current
secretary is retiring July 31, 2010. If you have an interest please
contact Pastor Dave Erbel for more information.
14. ANYTHING GOES-Come aboard the S.S. American as it sails from
New York to England and enjoy the music of Cole Porter and the madcap
antics of the ship's unusual group of passengers. Performances of this
classic example of musical theatre are at the Mayer Lutheran High School
Fine Arts Center, July 22, 23, 24 and 26 at 7 PM, and July 25 at 2 PM.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for students and seniors. For more info,

15. ICE CREAM SOCIAL St. Peter Lutheran Church of Lester Prairie
will be hosting their annual Ice Cream Social along with a Country Store
and Bake Sale on Sunday, July 25, 2010. Serving time will be from 3:30
p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to attend for some fun,
fellowship and of course good eats. The food looks terrific. We will be
serving Hamburgers, BBQ's, Hot dogs, and all the trimmings, Potato
Salad, Baked beans, Chips, Pie with or without Ice Cream (your choice),
Root beer floats, Coffee, Milk and Lemonade. Come and join us in
